Carrie Underwood says her interest in bringing her music overseas simply stems from her passion for the songs.
She tells the UK's "Metro" she's started performing in Britain because she loves country music and jokes that "everyone else should, too." Carrie says she's drawn to the genre because it's real. She explains that the songs are "just about life" and "about being honest with your feelings," adding that country stars aren't "trying to be cool."
Underwood also points out that even the events are real, and "you won't see people lip-synching" at country music awards shows.
Underwood admits it "might take a while" for some country stars - perhaps even herself - to crack the UK market, but she says she's "honored to be in a the ground floor" as country stars begin to really branch out beyond North America.
